WITH LIQUOR
At the result of (he activities of
the Medford police last nlslit, allied
by Deputy Sheriff Mr.Mahon, three
men and two women were arrested
for intoxication. Patrolman Hem
street and Mc.Mahon arrested u former
Medford man who has resided in
Portland for over two years past, in
a room with two women from Frisco.
It is claimed the trio were intoxicat
ed, anil that other charges may be
preferred against theni, but at the
hour of going to press this afternoon
no formal complaint hud been filed
In Police .ludge Taylor's court, al
though such complaints wore expected
any moment, togethe.' with the bring
ing in of the accused for trial.
Another man arretted at another
place by the two above mentioned of
ficers for intoxication, had not been
brought in for trial.
Tom Ciannon. about HO years old,
who is in poor health and has been
at the county infirmary for some
time past, was found on ibe street
intoxicated by Patrolman Adams last
night and was fined $25 and costs li -day.
He said be bad become intox'
cated through drinking a welt known
patent medicine.

Junior week-end at the, University
of Oregon, the big annual event which

closer relation between the students

Seeley V. Hall, manager of transpor
tation for Crater Lake tills year, will
depart Saturday evening with Carl
Tengwald and several other Medford
men for Portland, to bring back the
three Crater Lake stages and auto
truck in storage in that city. Mr.
Tengwald, however, will remain In
Portland four or five days on business

the Crater Lake hotel this season.

reports circulated in America that
Great Britain was selling war craft to
South American governments for

eign governments since the armistice"
the admiralty informed the Associated
Press, "are the battleship Canada and
two other vessels which were sold to
the Chilean government, for which
i they were originally built; one sloop
to Denmark, two sloops to Portugal
