Among the victims. A. H. Hearn has been quite sick, as has Mrs. W. E. Anderson and Mrs. Donna Graffes. . V. J. Bean ot Phoenix is quite HI of EDENPRECINCT - I i blood-poison from having run the point of a lead pencil into his arm. Dr. -Malmgren has performed an operation on the injured arm and Mr. Bean is some belter at this writing. W. E. Anderson of East Eden, had the misfortune to cut his right hand badly with an ax while splitting wood, and is having to come to Phoenix once a day to have the wound dressed. Mrs. t'olver Furry is bringing off a fine hatch of young turkeys, having had the good luck to hatch nineteen turkeys fro mtwenty eggs. Mrs. Furry has about one hundred and sixty eggs set. Mrs. Lizzie Stancliff is very low with pneumonia following an attack of the grippe. Persons having telephones in the Phoenix rural line, are having to put up Willi a great deal of Inconvenience owing to tile workers on the Pacific Telephone lines interfering with local service. Mr. and Mrs. Thurber Colo of Ash land, were guests at the home of Mr. and .Mrs. C. Carey last Sunday. Fred Nealhammer of Phoenix, has been confined to his bed with, on at tack of the grippe, but is able to be about a little at this writing. Word comes from Mrs. Win. Carless in the east where she has gone to be with her son, lioland, that there is little hope of his recovery. Mrs. Car loss tried to have her son transferred to some one of the army hospitals in the west, but his condition would not permit of his being moved. Wednesday morning C. Carey found his garden almost ruined by a flood caused by the breaking of a reservoir owned by the Anderson place, which had broken during the night, and came down over the country between Careys and (he Anderson ranch. Mrs. Frost came down from Seattle to her daughter's homo in Phoenix, where she will remain and care for her lather, Mr. Thrasher, while Mrs. Curloss is in the east with her son Roland, (Furnished Sy rue jacison County Abstract Co.)
