Scenic reservation Association of
ackson county will be held at Centra;
Point next Kriday noon. This meelliiK

I. miles' Aid society of the Central
Point Methodist church at a cost to
Ihe participants of GOe per plate.
Membership in the association is not
necessary for residents of the county
to attend this dinner and meeting. An
effort Is being made to get a gooil at
tendance from Ashlnnil, Modford and
intermediate points as well as resl
lents of Central Point and vicinity.
An interesting meeting has been
planned in the interest of furthering
greater activity in the preservation of

At the Ashland Chamber of Com
merce's weekly forum, held this noon.
Representative Ben ('. Sheldon gave a
talk on "Kducatlonal measures consid
ered nt tho recent session of the legis
lature." Mr. Sholdon was chulrmun of
the educational committco of the
house. The speaker made special ref
erence to the .two sharp fights on
school nis Iters of the session; tint
over the fire text book bill and that
regarding the Portland teachers' ten
tiro of office bill. The two most Im
portant bills passed, from the stand
point of the educational future of the
state were, according to Mr. Sheldon,
the county unit bill and the one de
signed to gradually require better and
better preparation of teachers for the
grade schools. ,

automobile accidents has mode than
