Johnny Wil son, who successfully defended his title as middleweight champion in the fifteen round bout with Hike O'Dowd hero last night, received today as his Bharo of the receipts 112,500. O'Dowd, the former title holder, re colved a guarantee of $20,000. The to tal receipts were $107,523. The con test which was witnessed by 13,300 persons, was one of the largest crowds ever assembled for a boxing match in this city. It was announced today by Wilson's manager that the title-holder fought with a sprained right hand, suffered in a training bout last Sunday. O'Dowd reiterated charges made during the fight that he had been struck In the groin. Ho said physic ians who examined him corroborated his statement. OX HOARD TUB IT. S. S. Walter Jones, a chief gunner's mate, was killed when he jumped from an observation bal loon which broke adrift from the bat tleship Florida, off Giiantanamo yes terday during maneuvers by the Unit ed Stales fleet. The body was recov ered and taken aboard the hospital ship Relief. ' A. R. McNeil, attached to the sea plane division of the fleet was also killed Thursday by the propellor of a seaplane shortly arter the seaplane had rescued the members of a crew of another observation balloon which broke looso from the battleship Ne vada.
