Phono 620 An article in Friday's paper headed "Medford Women Aid Mrs. Klakelev In Coming Trial" has i ,, opinion of certain members of the Greater Med ford cluli created a wrong Impression, m regard to its attitude toward Mrs. Hlakeley. The heading was based upon the following statement In the article contributed by a member of the club: The Creator Medford club voted to send three representative women to Jacksonville during the coming trial of Mrs. Hlakeley thereby showing her she has the moral support of tho wom en in her community during the trouble that confronts her." It seems that some people reading the heading have secured tho impres sion that the Greater Medford club is taking sides ou the question, and Is working in Mrs. Illakeley's behalf. Such of course is not the case, and no such conclusion is warranted by the text of the article. Members of the club have requested this paper to state that only moral sup port is intended, the club feeling that as Mrs. Hlakeley is a woman, the only woman Involved in the Jacksonville case, it Is only proper (hat a woman's organization should send representa tives to tho trial, and give such moral support as is consistent with an abso lutely Impartial view of the case from a legal or technical standpoint.
