COMMUNICATIONS George-Eagles Replies To the editorrl have Just noticed an article In your: paper written by Joe Thomas, in beiutlf of Jess Ingram with reference to ,tho bout Ingram and my self had at Gold Hill, New Year's day. It is very evident from the statements mado therein by. Thomas, that he is not entirely satisfied with the showing I made, as he says I even foully butted Ingram. 1 believe any fair-minded person who saw tho contest will say beat Joe's meal ticket in every round, and I furthermore believe, even Joe himself was somewhat worried thru- out the bout, lest it should end in a sudden way that he would not fancy. However if Joe Is not satisfied, would like nothing better than lo try it again with his boy. However In any future contest would not want hitting In clinches barred, and 1 am sure I can show Mr. Thomas it won't take "all afternoon" to win. Wish to tidd since I returned to Portland Willie St. Clair got a decis ion over mo, and while alibies are not in order, want to say to my friends down there, I had caught a very bad cold on the train returning from Gold Hill to Portland, and wa3 certainly In had shape for this contest. - ,'.
