Myers who was carrying some ve,r large pincers. "Doctor" Myers looked very grave when ho examined the tooth and remarking that the case re quired much larger pincers, departed to get them. Then the negro said to the chief: "That tooth doan hurt me ah bit now." "All right," said the chief, opening up the prison door and pointing north, "You, have 10 minutes to get out of town." The negro fairly flew out of the city. V. Whitney at Ashland. The wound is not serious. Three other tramps who were v(th him escaped. Ward said they thought the house was vacant and had stolen wood to muke a fire near their camp on the railroad tracks. Whitney saw an object- at a window and fired to frighten. Mr. Howard Arbury, a national rep resentative, who conducted the meet ing, not only save a convincing expla nation of the methods and motives of the movement, but interspersed his talk with delifhtfully entertaining ex amples of community sinsing and "get acquainted" stunts. As explained by Mr. Arbury,. the purpose of .community service is to provide a recreational program for the leisure time of the community. It docs not function as a separate insti tution, but aids and .augments the work of all existent organizations, by welding together there the common interest of piny of the entire commu nity lift.
