Fans everywhere know it as the farce that shook Broadway with gales of laughter and made a whirl wind on the road. ' Here it is as a photoplay, now ploy ing at 'tho Page theatre, with the sunny Tom Moore in the star part, and a cast of comedians that could not be excelled. In the screen version tho sharp corners of the play have been rounded off, scenes have been inserted that could not be shown on the stage, and the action zips along without the slightest hint of a break. A Tlu'illing New Story of God'si Country On the edge of civilization there are no traditions. There men meet life with all the strength and soul within then). That's why tho great est stories have always been written, hot of the atrophied emotions of so ciety, but of tlio.virilo peoplo nearest the great outdoors. The death of Mrs. Ellen Fdington last Monday morning came as a sad surprise to the community, few hav ing known of her short illness Grandma, as shn was known most commonly, was much loved and re spected for her true sincerity and pa tlent endurance. Though she had been failing for some time her ambi tion and desire to spare those around her gave her strength to rally many times when loved ones had despaired of her recovery. With the passing of Mrs. Edington the oounty loses one of its most highly respected and well known citizens, having been a res! dent here for 2S years, 18 years of which were spent iu this community where the little corner she so quietly occupied will long bear significance of her absence. In spite of our pleasant spring-like weather an expidemic of bad colds and sore throats seems to be preva lent throughout the valley. Word received from Mr. and Mrs Straus who are visiting in Portland, Seattle and Spokane states they ex pect to be back in a week or at least in timo to celebrate Christmas with the kiddies at home. Several of our Sams Valley people were interviewing Santa at Medford last week. Many comments are being made on the unusually light Christmas shop ping attributing the cause to Santa still holding to tho war time prices in spite of the strong decline in tho producers market. The funeral services of Grandma Edington were held' Wednesday mor ning at the homo, Rev. Miller offic iating. "A. large crowd attended- both the services and blirilal at the Central Point cemetery. 7 Preparations for an interesting Christmas entertainment by the school and community are progress ing nlcely-'The program will be given Thursday evening at the Wllhite hall 'Mrs...Morrison who recently under went a serious operation in Medford is improving rapidly. The time of year Is now here when little kearts beat fast and larger eyes grow bright, bat when their elders are too engrossed to even appreciate tbeir childish enthusiasm.
