Sasnett, which was designed to show the hoys and girls the handicap of sin. Tr wasn't a matter of eurnetini; jrabbits .'nun a hitch hat, aliiio the I yoiinKsters had reason to believe that Mr. isasnett could have done so had , he essayed the task. Nor was it u matter c,f conjuring things of one I kind and another from the eauiou- tlage of the niagieion's environment not that kind. Hut to begin at 'the beginning it should be said that for a month Uev. Sasnett has been delivering Sunday school talks which he has illustrated by t't'ats of magic, among his para phernalia being a canister into which objects are placed or from which withdrawn. This ranister is used a represent a human heart. So when he began his talk, ho observed that "we have this fellow with ns again this morning." Kil t of Chain of Sin Holding up a common link for identification Uev. .Mr. Sasnett told his audience it was a part of a chain of sin, and a black ring which he produced he said held together the chains of sin and so shackled the victim that he had no chance ct at taining the best in life. These were placed in the canister, and succes sively uher links were held up. iden tified as a specific kind of sin by the young people, and duly deposited with the statement that sin has a way of getting into the heart. The "hu man heart" was figuratively bulging with links and rings bearing bar names. Little white lies that grow) into big black lies were deposited; along with hate and gambling and, swearing and stealing. One link called disobedience was thought to be a pretty bad sin when practiced against father or mother, or the laws the state or cf God. As each link was brought forth, the youngsters continued to christen it with evil ap pellation. Cruelty as to kicking dogs and killing birds found a place beside anger and jealousy. Sometimes two or three links were joined together, purporting to show that cue sin leads to another, and ultimately alt the links of sin in tho. heart are joined together. He then hail three boys from tho audience eoine up utiri shackle his Wkk, hands and nerk with the loin; chain, securely fastening the chain with two heavy padlocks.. "Yon will have a hard time getting thru life, this way" observed Mr. Sasnett as he tried to walk and move about. "You cannot climb the ladder of success" ho said, "if your will is shackled with sin. If one is manacled by the power of sin there is no earthly power can free you. The only way is to ask tJod to tuko away your Bin and pray His forgiveness. The chain of sin is ni.'t yet very long in the hearts of you boys and girls, and 1 want you to gio your lives to Christ before you do become hope lessly hound by the fetters of evil." Here the minister knelt as to dem onstrate the penitent attitude, and praying for deliverance, tho chains magically fell from his neck and hands and feet, and rattled to the tWor. As he arose he repeated the words of scripture, "Whom tho Son makes i're; is free- indeed." An audience which taxed the ca: parity of the auditorium at the mor ning service heard tho Palm Sunday sermon on "The Triumphant March of Christ Thru tho Centuries." An equally large congregation was at tendance upon tho evening service when Uev. Sasnett preached on "Why You Owe Allegiance to Christ." Tho evangelistic drive was an nounced to continue another week. L lany people visited tho Trlnonia -'il fields yesterday. There is great acllvitynt well No. 1. KverythiiiK is running smoothly and prospeels for oil are looking hetler each day; The theory that has been advanced by some of the skeptical ones, "That the oil had been here without doubt, but had been burned out in the past ages," has been proved a mistaken theory, by the fact that the sandstone the drill has passed thru shows no sign of having been burnt. Also the shale contains curbon sulphur, and oil shalo that is exposed shews no indications or prc-heating, which would surely be tho cuso if the oil had uoen burned out." Experienced men are visiting the well nnitc often and all pronounce tho outlook first-class. Tho well Is 17 hundred feet above sea level, two hundred feet higher than Medford. The roads are In good condition and the oil company will he glad to have you visit tho well any time. Mr. Morris, the head driller, is genial and good natured about answering inquiries.
