We must look our fcest aud prettiest for we want our friends to see us at our best and to go away pleased with their visit. This is the message the secretary of the Pacific Northwest Tourist as sociation, Herbert Cuthbert, Bends to all the communities in the Pacific northwest. He says that during n trip by rail thru various sections of the Pacific northwest, taken recently, that he noticed a great many of our beauty spots disfiguredy broken lences, burnt, fallen and dead timber, and urges all the- communities to endoavc'r to get the owners to clean these places up. Ho would remind us of the annual proclamation issued by the governor for a clean-up week, wherein our vacant lots should be cleared of all debris, flower seeds planted where possible, fences repair ed, houses and barns painted and everything done so that when this flock of tourists come upon us every thing unsightly will have disappear ed. The value cf the tourist travel to each community will depend upon MEXICAN MINE BURNS, 136 DEAD REPORTED IK.kO CITY, Mar. 11 -One hundred and tliirt v-.-ix miners have not been accounted tor in the Kl liotlrn mine at l'arhnca. a miniiiL' eitv near Mexico Citv in the state of lli dalyo. where 1 ire broke out this moniinir. nceurdiiiir to telephone ad vices from I'lM'lium.
