It is a patriotic duty to many. Make it your duty.- Vernon H. Vawter. pres ident Med ford Chamber of Commerce. Thc Medford Chamber of C'om UHM'ce's expansion and reorganization campaign is taking on more definite fo'nn each succeeding day, and at headquarters the preliminary details of the work are making satisfactory progress according to a statement made today by Campaign Secretary .lack C. Hodgson. Director .lames 10. Ohcr-ii authoriz ed the statement today that he had requested a conference with the board of directors of tho Chamber of Commerce for Mc'iulay for tho pur pose of selecting an advisory com mittee. The personnel of tho advi sory committee will he made up of representative and public-spirited cit izens of Medford who are to servo as a consulting council in passing upon the different phases of the campaign which will develop as it progresses. The advisory committee will he called together for its first meeting Tuesday at which timo the order of business will lie the naming of. an ex ecutive committee whoso duty it will be to act in a directing capacity with supervision over the actual campaign work. Director Checn will explain to the advisory committee at its meeting Tuesday the complete details of the campaign, and advise with them as tr, local needs and conditions. A full re port will be made to the citizenship soon as to the committee's ideas and feeling on the matter. Some emphasis wus placed today on the statement that straight business-like methods will characterize the presentation to the public of the project for expanding and reorganiz ing tho Chamber cf Commerce. No red-fire or sensational methods will be followed, the appeal being solely on the ground that tho proposed or ganization is a good thing and mem bership therein a wise investment ot time and money. - The widest possible publicity will be given tho campaign. It will he ide plain that efficient organiza tion and operatic1:! or a community service has been standardized thru hundreds of experiments and the best of these ideas will be adopted here. Willingness to cooperate in the movement is already in evidence lo- eallv. These citizens havo boon im pressed with tho wish of government officials for such help as well organ ized communities can give them and in addition with the opportunity to bring about necessary betterments at home. A form of amplication for member ship in the Medford organization will be drafted soon, and it was said to day that already a number of volun tary enlistments have been received. However, no effort will be mado lo enroll members fc'r some time, it be ing thought best to preface this part of tho campaign with a period of edu- utional and instructive information about the project. The entire plan of tho campaign looks to permanence for the results. Medford's position commercially and industrially is impt'rtant. Support ers of the new organization now seek to make its civic standing correspond ingly high. For this reason, the invi tation to enlist in tho reorganized plan, will bo as general as tho cit izenship itself. Representatives of tho American City Htircau in charge or the cam paign here, who are also conducting the same sort of a catnpnign at Asn- land. report keen interest and great activity in the interest cf the projec launched there by the Commercial Hub of that city. As the campaign progress it is natural to assume tint there will be marked friendly rivalry developed to see whh ll city will put over the most successful results. Campaign headquarters have been established at Ashland in the store room at 2!l North Main street where a clerical and stenographic force are at work on tho preliminary details anil the compilation of the prospect list. - Cut Till Out It Is Worth Money DON'T MISS THIS.
