To the teachers and school children of Ore gon: .My attention has been directed to tho plan of the War Department to arouse interest In recruiting for tho United States army. The plan, as 1 understand ,lt, Is to enhance interest in recruiting through the medium of essays written by school children on the subject "What Are the Benefits of nn Enlistment in the United States Army?" C, on May 5, 1920, these boys and girls will be presented with medals j by Secretary of War Baker.
