The music of "Head Over Heels" s one. of the most famous of .leromo Kern's musical comedy successes and is believed by many to be- his very best effort. He has literally staffed his score with dance numbers that keeps the toes a-tappiiiK, besides three solos for Mitzi and numerous duets, quartets, and others that in clude the entire ensemble. Kdgar Allan Woolr has given a story and lyrics full of bright lines, comic sit uations and at times considerable pathos. "Head Over Heels" is called a play wiUi music, but it has so much of the usual delights of comic opera, musi cal comedy and even opera bouffe and so many novelties that it is hard to classify. Its gay comedy and swift action, together with the appeal of the ultra-modern music were hailed by the critics of New York and Chi cago, where the piece enjoyed long engagements last season, as a happy and Irresistible combination. It is one of the kind of attractions that Henry ". Savage can be count ed up'ii to send brilliant in each particular of scenery. i" the cast. which contains so many important names and does not depend upon a single star, altho it has the foremost i one of musical comedy; in the Savage Opera orchestra and in the ensemble; (,'f feminine beauty and excellent I voices.
