The instructions wore issued Bt the reoaest of Tex lvicki-.rd. lro niotor of the Fourth of Julv match, who also intends to make the rcoucst of Willnrd. Sunday saw the las hard work out of Dempsoy and from now on tho challenger will case off rapidly in his training. This is a necessity rather than n choice so far as the Salt l.aUc heavyweight is concerned, for he is so fine physically that there is no more than a remote danger of his going stale. This afternoon Dcmpscv plans to box four rounds in which nothing but light work will he attempted. Willnrd on the other band plans to continue his recent burst of training speed for at least two davs more, un less a spell of hot weather causes him to change his mind. The cool breeze A' the week end put a feeling of snap into the champion and led him to decide to work steadily until Wednesday at least. The title holder long since dropped all forms of road work with the explanation thai be did not think that it benefitted a man of bis trentaendous bulk. Physical culture sharps are align ed in widelv separate camps. Those who think that he should have done more road work admit that be is in better show than when he met Frank Moran in Now York, but claim that he is wocfullv short of tho condition reached when be defeated Jack Joint son in Havana; ' v Some of bis most enthusiastic ad mirers claim that his comlition clear ly indicates that he has boon iloinc secret training in addition to his pub lic workouts, hut, Willurd denies this old trick of pugilism. The clAnuiion is not using brine or nnv other prepa ration to toughen his skin but Dcmp scv is following this old system and is "pickling his face" for the contest a did Kitzsinmions.
