HInkle measured a mammoth cherry tree growing on the Hughes ranch near Glide. It was planted by the late M. Tipton, then owner of the ranch, in 1854. Alloy of Santa Barbara, which resulted when their car went over the cliff 7 miles south of Cres cent City. Mr. Gardner and sister, Mrs. Stockman, members of the party severely injured Mr. Bingham report ed to be-well on the road to recov ery. The accident, it Is now believed was caused by the hub cap of the front wheel striking a Jog concealed by the ferns which grow along the road bo profusely in that section, throwing the rear wheels over the bank.
