In that ease as here the bodv or bodies were so badlv scattered it was im possible to determine just how many corpses were involved. . Affainst Public Officials The homb plot Inst night, as in the Mav Dav. was directed in a nmioritv of cases against public officials, men who have been active in suppression of organized lawlessness. As there was little difference in the time be tween the explosions with the excep tion of that in Washington, the po lice nnd government agents believe the bombs were to be timed to explode nt about the same hour. The fact that wearing apparel and anarchistic literature Were found nt the Palmer home indicated to the police that the bomb exploded just as the dynamiter took it from the suitcase under the front entrance to the building. This premature disnrrnmrewent of plans explained why the explosion hero was so much ahead of those in New York Philadelphia aud elsewhere.
