girls who are to work at Crater Lake
lodge from June ?5 until October 15,
has been formed thru the Y. W C,
A.," says the Eugene Register.
"These girls will be in charge of var
ious sorts of work at the hotel, and
at tho same time enjoy the oppor
tunities ot a splendid summer resort.
The Crater Lake lodge is a large
stone hotel of 60 rooms; situated on
the brim of Crater lake, and scat
tered around the lake are many tents
which are furnished by the proprietor
for guests. Those girls who worm
the unit are Melba Williams, Alys
Sutton, Mary Mattley, Clara Yoran,
Elizabeth Wilson, Helen Watts add
Pearl Cralne."

A telegram received yesterday by
Mrs. Tainer of this city told the sad
news of the death of Mrs. Varian
Jonas on May 20. She was, only 25
years of age, and most of her life
she lived at Eagle Point. She died
at her mother's home in Lakevlew,
Ore., where she had only been three
weeks. On her journey to Lakevlew
she contracted a severe cold which
developed into pneumonia,, which
caused, her untimely death. She
leaves to mourn her loss her little
boy; Paul, ot six years, her husband,
besides her relatives and a host ot
friends who will surely miss her dear
self among them. She was a mem
ber for several years of the Rebakah
lodge at Eagle Point.
