The following account of the wed ding of last Saturday of Leo It. Scott of the marines service with two years yet to service, and- son of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Scott of near Jacksonville, was contained in the Vlsalta, Calif., paper: "Leo Bernard Scott, a mem ber of the marine corps stationed at Mare Island, secured a 4S hours fur lough to come to Visalia and arrived on the early train this morning. He was Joined here -by his fiance. Miss Florence Vhltt of Exeter. Together they secured a license from the coun ty clerk and sought a local minister and were married. The groom will return to Mare Island tomorrow. Mrs. Scott will remain with her parents in Exeter, from service the young couple will go to Jacksonville, Ore., to reside. In the meantime Mr. Scott, the new husband's father, will make efforts to have him discharged from further service. Try our merchants lunch. Following repeated attempts to Join the army with failure an ac count of ill health he tinully was ac cepted in the aero service and served in the 26th balloon company of that branch. - He arrived in France on Oct. 19,-1918 and was sent at once to the front near Sedan where ho spent the last days of the war. After the armistice was signed ho spent a month on transportation duty near Bordeau, after which he was sent home and discharged.
