All members of their crews and 17 offi cers and men of tho Gvpsum Ouoen were rescued bv tugs and destroyers. : The mine sweeping, convoy was re turning to the. United Stutes from Brest. When eight hours out it en countered severij weather and turned back. Tugs and destroyers answered calls for assistance, but in spite of their efforts the three sweepers went down, the Courtnov at 7 p. in.
