K A clause has been drafted for Insertion in the peace treaty fix ing the date for the transition to state ot peace sixty days after , the 'etgnidg ot the treaty. '? - - The purpose ot this provision Is to prevent contusion among the more than twenty belligerent , nations, which might tlx different dates In -their various ratifications. According to the present plan each, nation will ratify the treaty according to its own laws but all will nnlte In a common date which will become a universal day ot peace. ': , ; ' ' v . It Is being considered whether the United States, as an associated power but not an ally, should sign a separ ate treaty ot peace with Germany.
