Warren, member of tho state fish and Same commission, and Carl Shoemaker, stato game warden, relative to alleg ed favoring of commercial interests to the detriment of game fishing and to using tho fish and crnne depart ment for political purposes, were pre sented to the fish and game commis sion by Governor Oleott at a meeting of tho commission yesterday. These charges had been received by Gover nor Oleott In tho morning. They were discussod by the commission, meet ing in executive session with tho gov ernor and Garme Warden Shoemaker wis Instructed to prepare a written reply, wbich will be given out later. ' Adopting the recommendations of Game Warden Shoemaker, tho com mission increased the salaries of the principal employes of that depart ment and authorized tho finance committee to adjust the salaries of 1 all game wardens. ' -'.. -,' Salaries Aro liaised . -; .'The salary of Game WTarden Shoe maker was increased from .$2400 a year to $3600, while the salary of Master Fish Warden Clnnton was in creased from $2500 to $3600 a year. Brown, from $150 to $165 a month: Clerk Moreland from $150 to $165 a month; deputy 1200 to $1800 a year; deputy fish warden in district No. 2, from $1000 to,$1400 a year. . 'Commissioner Warren explained that the legislature granted an in - creased appropriation to take. care of these Increases, and In reply to a question from Governor Oleott ho said the ways a'nd means committee was informed of the proposed salary increases before the appropriation was made The salaries of deputy game wardens,-which under the old law were limited to $90 a month, may be In creased up to $150 ly the action of the finance committee and the state game warden, according to authority granted by the commission. The commission voted to re-estab lish all deadlines so as to permit hook and line fishing above or below the line, as the case may be.
