dependent socialists generally were
defeated in the voting In Berlin, ac
cording to Berlin advices to the Han
delsblad. At 10 o'clock Monday morning the
totals In Berlin were:
German democrats, 33,000; ma
jority socialists, 153,000; independ
ent socialists, 103,000; German peo
ple's party, 17,800; Ginmn national
party, 62.000; centrist, 17,600. This
incomplete list gives five majority
socialists, 4 independent socialists
and two german democrats elected.
At Erfurt the Independents polled
24,600 to 13,500 rortho majority so
cialists. - The Independents, on the
other hand, wore heaten badly In
Dresden, Chemnitz, Hamburg, Mag
deburg, Nuremburg- anil- Munich,
