IS BETRAYED BY News of a new wrinkle bolng work ed by professional bootleggers was brought to Medford yesterday by Special Agent Kodgers of the South ern Pacific railroad, who was In the city on business. As a result the po lio of Medford and most other Ore gon cities will be suspicious of all men wearing big raincoats or over coats hereafter. Last Tuesday a bootleRger from Hornbrook arrived In Roseburg with 24 bottles of whiskey fitted in pock ets of a large belt worn around his waist outside his undercoat. The belt and contents were concealed by his largo raincoat. The man was just beginning to do a good business when in putting one of the bottles back into the bolt hur riedly as an officer turned the cor ner, he put it in upside down. In a second or so liquor from the bottle leaked out and ran down tho outside of his trousers. The sight and smelt of. the flowing booio attracted the attention of the officer who Bearched the suspected man and discovered the loaded belt still containing IS halt pint bottles of whisky. The boot legger was arrested. Mrs. L. Mortensen arrived In the city Thursday to attend the funeral of Ed Hutchlns whose remains were brought from Dunsmutr for burial here. He had an attack of the flu in the early part of the winter and had hardly regained' strength enough to withstand a second attack. There have been seven cases ot flu reported this week, two the first part of the week, two Wednesday, one ot which was a traveling man who was sick when he arrived from Klamath Falls and three yesterday, but two of these were in a family that had it. If it begins to increase again, it is probable that masks will have to be used again, so it is up to the citizens to see that every case is reported so that they can be quarantined. Slate Highway Jinguicor, BETTER THAN CALOMEL Thousands Have Discovered Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets are ' a Harmless Substitute. Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets the substi tute for calomel are a mild but sure laxative, and their effect on the liver is almost instantaneous. They are the result of Dr. Edwards' determination not to treat liver and bowel complaints with calomel. His efforts to banish it brought out these little olive-colored tablets. 1 These pleasant little tablets do the good that calomel does, but have no bed after effects. They don't injure the teeth like strong liquids or calomel. They take hold of the trouble and ouickly correct it Why cure the liver at the expense of the teeth? Calomel sometimes plays havoc with the gums. So do strong liquids. It is best not to take calomel, but to let Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets take its place . Most headaches, "dullness" and that lazy feeling cono from cciist'pation and a disordered liver. Toko Dr. Edwardj' Olive Tablets when you ieel "loggy" and "heavy." Note how they "clear" clouded brain and how they "perk up" the spirits. 10c and 25c a box.
