Mrs. Everett McArthur vas taken to Hie Sacred Heart hospital Sunday evening and was operated upon Mou duy morning hy Dr. Henry Hart. .The Sugar Bowl Is malting enough candy canes for every boy and girl in Medford, 5o each. A crew of Southern Pacifle rail road painters and decorators began work yesterday morning painting all the woodwork of the exterior of the depot and retiming the walls of the Interior and repainting its woodwork. OBITUARV Kstcllo OX)cliran . I Fntnltn Poohpnn wtf nt T M Cookran, was born in Cass county, Indiana, Sept. 17, 1S66, nnd was married to J. H. Cochran June 25, 1SS7. To this union was born eight children, four of whom. Mary, Mark. Minnie and Homer died III childhood or infancy. Mrs. Cochran leaves a husband, J. H. Cochran, and four children, 1 L. Cochran of Missoula, Mont., C. Har old Cochran, 6n a sub-chaser near Queenstown, Ireland, Ina Cochran, one of Medford's teachers, and L. Jean Cochran, stenographer for Dis trict Attorney Roberts. Mrs. Cochran left Medford on Nov. 29th to visit her son and daugh ter at Missoula, Mont. On arriving there she found the son with pneu monia and was unable for several days to get either a nurse or doctor but finally succeeded in getting her son to Patrick's hospital, at Missoula and then wired for Mr. Cochran, who was In Portland and who left at once. On his arrival there Mrs.' Cochran was feeling badly and a doctor sum moned. Three days later she was removed to St. Patrick's hospital and Consultation held. The daughters arrived on Dec. 12th. 'Mrs. Cochran recognized and spoke to them, but never regained consciousness, dying at 9 p. m. on Dec. 13 of cbollcystltls. Her husband and daughters accom panied the remains to Oakland, Ore., where she was laid to rest beside her children In the family burial ground on Dec. 16th. BAUGHMAX The funeral of C. II. Bauehman. superintendent of the schools at Talent, who died from in fluenza nt his home in Ashland on Mondny, was held this forenoon in Eusrenc. his former home, to which city the body was shipped vesterdav. Mr. Baushman. who was former su perintendent of schools of Lane coun ty, is survived bv his wife nnd three children. - He was n member of the Christian church.
