Vedder, the floating la-' borer who was arrested yesterday because of his treasonable utterances and on whom after his arrest a 3S callber loaded revolver . was round, was turned over to the county au thorities by United States District Attorney Haney last night to be pros ecuted for carrying a conceuled wea pon, and this forenoon when arraign ed before Justice Taylor, where he pleaded guilty, was given a 10 days sentence in the county jail. This action was taken by District Attorney Haney in order to have Vedder in safe custody while' his movements and 'career of tho past few months could be thoroly Investi gated. Vedder Is without a draft card, and this phase of tho matter will also 'be gone Into. Ralph Bleberstadt, who was ar rested Tuesday night for seditious utterances, Is being held in the coun ty jail by District Attorney Haney's orders pending further investigation. Bleberstadt is not the son of Carl Bleberstadt, as was stated In Wed: nesday's Mall Tribune, but Is his nephew and has been residing with him at the Bleberstadt ranch In the Eagle Point distrlet. The young man was called In the draft some time ago but was given deferred classifica tion because of being needed in agri culture. Three other persons accused of se ditious utterances were before District- Attorney Haney last night for questioning, who were warned by that bfflcial and allowed to go. He attributed their reported utterances more to sheer Ignorance than to dis loyalty. Her husband and family arc very happy that she Is well and en joying her homo again. The school board havo furnished tho schools with a full set of Spanish and of French records for the teach ing of those languages. Wo have a fine phonograph for the schools, thanks to our school board No school this week. The teachers must go to school for four days and let tho children play. Raymond Lloyd Stevens and John B.
