E It. will he welcome news to tho wo men, of Jackson eounlv that Miss Anno McCorniick, who has heen the home food demonstration uiront since last September in Jackson and Jose phine counties, spending alternately two weeks in each county, will here after he stationed permanently in this county. The work of covering tho two counties was too arduous for one per son to handle and some time aro there was fear that Miss McCorniick inilit ho transferred to some other county unless the county court made an appropriation to pay her expenses. Then the" county court on petition of tho women of Jackson county made an appropriation of .$1100 yearly for expenses, hut until now it was not known definitely whether or not Miss McCorniick would ho assigned to re main here. The t;overnment pays her salary, and unofficially Miss McCor niick received word from Washing ton two weeks ngn that she would probably be asiiuod permanently to this comity. Sunday on the same train on which tho body will bo oxprcssed for, Hood Hiver, Ore, whero tho body will'be buried by the side of n daughter who passed away 12 years ago. Andrew Jackson Kniorson was born Nov. 17, 1S-11, in Ray county, Mo., was married to Miss Laura A. Smyns, Dec. 17, 1S7.I, in Vernon county. Mo. To this union four children were born, threo girls and ono son. Tho second child died when two months of ago. Tho oldest died when 211 years of ngo. The youngest daughter lives In Los Angeles and the only son In Long Beach, Cal. Mr. Emerson wont to Xovndn and engaged in min ing from 1SC1-G7, then settled In Vernon counly. Mo., where ho was married and engaged in farming and stockralsing for twenty years. In 1S91 ho with his family moved to Vtnh and engaged In tho grocery bus iness for several years. From there ho moved to Hood Hlver, Ore., and again engaged In farming. It was there tho oldest daughter passed away. After eight years he with his wifo moved to Medrord and retired from active service and resided here until his death July in, 191S. He was a member of a family of ten chil dren, he being a twin. His mato died In Infancy. Three brothers and six sisters havo passed over the river, except ono sister who hns resided In Kunsas, past SS years of age. He was a devoted. member of the Chris tian church for moro than 42 years and was always ready to support all noblo causes. Ho nobly responded to all patriotic culls mado to support our country's need. He was a de voted husband and loving father. Ills christian character was admired by all who knew him. The only rela tive In tho west besides tho devoted wife, daiiRhlor, son and three grand children, is one niece, Mrs. T. P. Walters. DR.
