Kvery lied Cross Drive committee
In the United States will take on a
new determination today as the re
sult of a tolegram issued by Henry P.
Davison, of the national war council
last night, urging campaign man
agers to exert a' supreme effort to
over-subscribe their Jted Cross quo
tan, and expressing a belief that an
other hundred million dollar drive
must come within the next eight
months to care for the millions of
American fighting men who wilt be
in France.
The theory that It Is a mistake for
a community to over-subscribe Is ex
ploded not only by tho receipt of this
plea from the national war council
for over-subscription of all quotas
but also by figures available at headquarters.
To date forty people have subscrib
ed half of the entire total raised in
Medford and at the close of the cam
paign not over $2000 will come from
people who will miss a dollar of their
contributions. Campaign Manager
Daniels has posted Mr. Davison's tele
gram at headquarters for inspection
of all wishing to read it and will be
glad to show those interested just
where the bulk of the Hed Cross
funds raised In Medford are coming
from.
