OF IHE TRIBUNE STATEMENT It has not been my Intention, dur ing the prosent campaign In which 1 am a candidate for County Judge, to do much advertising as It has seemed to me, even had I unlimited means, that the money so spent could be used to better advantage. How ever as tho Editor of the Mail Trib une atated in his editorial that I pay but J10.50 in taxes, I feel called unna to correct that statement. My taxes aro $42.31 not much, I'll ad mit, when It Is remembered that n 1913, as proprietor or Hollywood Or chards, I paid $654.28 In taxes, and in 1914 the sum of S67.3S. From 1904 to date I have brought Into Jackson County over M0. 000. 00 and I have never taken one dollar out. Because I have spent this sum in the County, because I have my ev ery interest here, because I pay less taxes now than In 1914, does this mako my efficiency to fill the office of County Judge any the Iobs? In 1915, when I was appointed Horticultural Commissioner, tho county was spending over $14,000.00' per year for fruit inspection- this amount exclusive ot pathologist. I have put the office on a business ba sis and It is now running at about $3800.00 per year, a saving of abotl $10,000.00. A. C. ALLENl (Paid Adv.) 3 iS? S I. M0m When a Diamond Talks .vw...
