Any doubters of tho abovo statement should havo seen the poultry exhibit at our Jackson County fair just closed. Those who were In a position to know rommeiiied again anil again on tho superior quality or tho birds on exhibition. Wo havo spent tlmo and money conduct ing poultry shows, getting men hero to lecture and visit our ranches, who were experts In things pertaining to tho feeding, growing and marketing of poultry and In the raising of "fancy" stock. Hut the day of the purely "fancy" birds is fast passing. As a result, they have won the confidence and respect of the English people, proved themselves worthy of the ballot, which is to he given to llicnt without much opposition. When America entered the war and the United States was forced to fight for national existence, our militant suffragettes adopted the policy of withholding co-opera-lion from the government, and spent their energies in harrassing tuu embarrassing their verv good friend, the president of the United States, resorting to unpatriotic displays and seditious utterances in their effort to hull doze and coerce the chief executive of a nation, burdened jin iew presidents nave neon ny tlie cares of.state. At fi meeting of the advisorv council of the women's party held at Baltimore, Tuesday, Mrs. Henry 0. llave '.iieyer of New York, in an address appealed to the suffrag ists "not to lift a finger" in aid of the liberty loan, declar ing, "J have not the nerve to ask money for a battle for democracy when we who demand true democracy are ihrown into the jails for doing so." Mrs. Abby Scott Uaker of Washingt on, who says she has t hree soils in the service of the government, also urged the women to boy cott the loan.
