Captain Strawbridge and ills assist
ants of the army quartermaster's de
partment found 21 sound animals
available for military use, and bought

These horses were shipped last
night to Camp Lewis, American Luke,
Wash., where they will bo put Into
service Immediately. Captain Straw
bridge and hla assistants left last
night for Portland, whero they will
inspect a large number of horses of
fered for sale there.
The captain decided shortly after

make no purchases of mules at pres
ent, tho quite a number of mules
were offered for sale.

Strawbridge will return to Med ford
to make other purchases from an
