PAQE FiTT! ROOT : MISSION HOME FROM VISIT TO NEW RUSSIA , A PACIFIC POHT. Aug. 3. The ; American mission to Russia, headed by Kllhu Root, reached here last night en route to Washington. The mission will remain here over night and will be entertained at a ' civis luncheon tomorrow noon. 'The governor of the state and the mayor of the city will be among those re ceiving the mission. . . ; j ; Besides Mr. Root, the members of the mission are: JCharles Edward Russell, writer and publicist; Cyrus H. McCormick, president of the Inter national Harvester company; Samuel R. Barton, banker; James Duncan, vice-president of the American Feder ation of Labor; Charles R. Crane, one of America's leading manufactur ers; John.R. Mott, one of the nation's most active supporters of the Young Jen's Christian association; Major General Hugh L. Scott, chief of staff of the United States army, and Rear Admiral James H. Glennon. The mission has been away from the United States since May 19. i ; Root I Silent. -' No official statement on the work of the mission in Russia or on the report that the mission will make on its return to Washington could be ob tained. Mr.' Root, noting as- spokesman, declared that ho had nothing to say beyond tlifl fact that the party hail been hospitably received in every Russian city that they visited. From the Russian revolution will be evolved a stable government, ac cording to Sir.
