A small crowd bado farewell to Captain Todd and his men, and number of friends presented tho boys with delicacies to be enjoyed on their northern journey. When the araln departed the crowd cheered- the sol- dlersand the soldiers returned the cheers and shouted: "What's the mat ter with Medford.?" She's all right." Before leaving, Captain Todd and the officers of the company, on behalf of the men issued the following state ment: ' From the officers and members of Company I, Third Oregon Infantry, U. S.
