What might romnlu or tha 100,000 airplanes wjien pence is restored could bo utilised for commercial pur poses, ho said. A French government commission now Is making plans for such use. Mr. Hawley predicted that the day of trans-Atlantic air lines was at bund. "Wo are now manufacturing air cruisers capable of crossing the At- lnntc and havo the pilots and Instru ments needed for piloting them," hi1 fluid. NEW YORK, Juno 21.- After an Inspection of the army aviation field at Mlneola, tho delegation of Kronen aviators who arrived in this country yesterday to train American airmen Issued a statement In which they said: "Tho United States could ond the war at once, making possible a decis ive vlstory over (lermany, for the nllles, If it couhr supply 10,000 avia tors now." A POISONED PEOPLE. npODAY'S dispatches tell under lour years ot age, victims ot the latest German air raid upon London. Another official dispatch relates the bombardment and sinking of lifeboats by gun fire from a German submarine that had successfully torpedoed and sunk a steamer. A third cable describes Jjclgians by Germans into slavery, where they are com pelled to toil 32 hours a day in the danger zone, illy clad and half fed, succumbing shortly to exhaustion and dis ease. A fourth dispatch quotes a letter written by the Queen of liiiniania, telling of the death of her child, infected by disease? germs contained in the candv dropped among chil dren by German airships in demic. The slaughter of women innocent non-combatants, the ors, till without military advantage, and the enslavement of a conquered people are but a few of the counts atraiust the barbarians who have violated every law of God and man in crazed lust for power. How came Germany to run amuck, not like a mad dog loaniing at the mould, not with the red lury ot rabies, but with the cool cunning and clever lunacy ot a poisoned brain? Jlow came an entire nation insane? The answer is found in the deliberate propaganda inau gurated by Bismarck of perverting by education the ideals of a nation, of destroying democracy and upbuilding autoc- racy, of substituting might for tice, lor two generations Germany has received ideas from thinkers and philosophers who have extolled the blood and iron olicy and deprecated humanity, and bar barized the national mind. Here is German Kultur as formulated by German thinkers: "Not only must the state be olieyed, it must be venerat ed as a God. Success insured bv might is the measure of right." -Hegel. "Weak nations have no right to existence, and must be absorbed by powerful nations. The essimce of the state is power. Nothing exists or can exist which is superior to the state. " Trieschke. "The state can do no wrong. The observance of trea ties is not a matter of duty but of advantage." Adolphus Lassen. , . "Love God above all things and thy neighbor as thyself. This law can claim no significance for the relations of one country to another. There never has been and never will be universal rights of men." Bemhardi. "Morality is a symptom of decadence. War b as neces sary to the state as slavery is to society. Might is the source of right. There is no right other than that of theft, usurpation and violence. Nietzsche. .v . - . . : "Militarism is the indispensable instrument of German culture, it builds its brightest hopes of supremacy on the extermination of others." Houston Chamberlain, rene gade Englishman and naturalized German. . , ... ' No one outside a rienitentiary or a lunatic i asylum many we have an entire nation tice them we. have gallows and electric chairs, yet in Ger many we have an entire nation nt only preaching but prac ticing them and the result is a world wide war, which can end only in the triumph of the maniacs or their utter defeat, so that the world will again be sane and safe for humanity.
