Tho result of the work so far on a laOO-foot tunnel has not yet been announced. E. E. Young, a business man of Fresno. California, in company with S. S. Bullls of the Applegato Lumber company, Is looking over this part of southern Oregon this week with more than ordinary interest. E. King of Medford Is registered at Hotel Portland, Portland. Oregon. He suggested remedial legisla tion which the department and con gressional committees recently found impracticable.
