A. L. Bowen, acting warden, said today that among Hie things which will bo forbidden aro indiscriminate; correspondence with women and visits from women not relatives or the pris oners, i Demoralized Discipline. To prove that correspondence with (fivomen on tho outside had done much to demoralize prison discipline, Wat den I3oweu mndo public excerpts from letters received at the prison and con fiscated by tho authorities. They were from, women who had been put in communication with prisoners thru a 'league organized for uplift work. The women varied in ages from seventy to fifteen. "I fell asleep and dreamed of my hero you," wrote ono woman. "The dream was really a continuation of my thoughts; love's sweet dream." "Tell mo my lotlcrs make you hap py, or I shall squeeze you till you squeal Oh, you baby" was the mes sage to another convict. Apparently some of the women bad more than one correspondent, but whether In different prisons was not made clear, i Had Several on Siring. "I have a counterfeiter on my list, a kid about twenty, but somo smart kid and sweet boy," said one letter. "But don't got Jealous, he's 1n for two joara longer than you aro and you xn't ever moot." (Warden Bowen said the letters came from all parts of the United States and from all degrees of social rank. Ono woman's stationery was elaborately crested. It was the order curtailing the correspondence and visiting privileges, which precipitated tho recent prison revolt, in which one man was killed. STEADY GAIN IN EXPORTS OF F000 .
