meet and picnic of the Valley l'riile
creamery Thursday was, ns it always
is, a jolly affair attended not only by
the people of the Appleate valley but

fashioned basket picnic dinner was
served which was much enjoyed.

450 HEAD CATTLE

A largo cattle deal was consummat
ed recently when Henry Barneburg
Bold his entire herd of cattle, 450
head, to D. W. Parker of Klamath
county for a price said to be around
$20,000. Mr. Barneburg is going out
of the cattle business. Until July 1
the cattle will be run on their present
range, the Hagardlne tract on Grizzly
Butte. After that the steers will be
cut out and Bent to the Llndsey ranch
In the Dead Indian country to be fat-
toned and the stockers will be driven
to tho Klamath county range.
The fact that the Hagardlne range,
which he and L. A. Noll had leased
from the Ben Selling and Joe Simon
Interests of Portland was recently
taken over by the Rosenberg brothers
of Medford who will run sheep on It,
was an important factor in inducing
Mr. Barneburg to go out of the cattle
business in this vicinity.
