FATAL JOY RIDE
It developed Thursday that two
Grants Puss women were in the cur

Smith and James T. White were joy
riding from Grants I'ass to Medford,

congress today. The senate had un
der consideration tho adminislralion
bill to increase the production of food
and expected to discuss it contin

up the second administration measure
providing for the creation of n food
administrator, prevention of hoard
ing nnd price fixing.
Herbert C. Hoover, who litis been
chosen by President Wilson ns food
administrator under the pending leg
islation was installed in his new of
fices beer today and soon will name
assistants who nro expected to work
without pay.
