Her husband Is tho Southern Pacific agent at Hugo. "Civilization," the great 10-reol war spectacle, will be the attraction at tho Star theatro Tuesday, matiuco and evening. "Civilization" Is a pro test against war, but It Is in no sense a pacifist plea. Tho Justifiable war is not touched upon, only those wars Incited by ambitious monarchs to bring to themselves military aggran diemcnt. At the samo time the picture does show what errlblo effects war has, of Its miseries and sorrows and hardships, theso being ,of course, characteristic of all wars. Tho pic turo is tho most Intense one that was ever produced, tho entire movement from start to finish 'being of almost continuous tense dramatic action. Tho photography of the play Is wonderful and the acting of the principals excel lent. One of the remarkable features of the drama Is tho huge crowds that appear In some of the pictures. In the one where the mothers appeal for peace thero nro claimed to be 10,000 people, and there Is no reason to be lieve that the claim Is exaggerated. 44 Mrs. S. D.
