building, and moved in with his fam
ily, his wife and an eighteen-year-old

It has also boon learned that Ilol
slein and "Sergeant" Frank have
boon going to towns south of Med
i'ord as far as Montague, Cab, where
tho boy would play musical instru
ments in small theaters. It is claim
ed that this was but. an excuse for
Ilolstein to ride back and forth along
the Southern Pacific railroad to
learn iiere giuttd patrols of Com

Sergeant Hrooks, who has charge
of recruiting in Mrdford for the ma
rine corps, saw Ilolstein at San Di
ego a year ago loitering around the
military barracks there.

this city as soon as ho had placed
