Uoos, secretary of the Trl State Road Association, have returned from Ttoseburg wher thoy attended the Douglas county roads rally. Th"y ' report that Douglas county Is going the limit in putting before their peo ple a county road bond Issue of to50,000. Every district In the coun ty was represented, over 300 citizens. Including ladies, attending both, after noon and evening sessions, '"lion. Ringer Hermann presided. Cr-iritnissioncr Adams was present and (Jnade addresses at both meetings. Representatives from other counties took part in the deliberation. Jack on county delegation was called up oj to give their experience) and knowl edge of the highway in their county At the evening meeting a commit tee of 15 wero selected to aportion the $550,000 bond proceeds to he ex pended in the different localities of - the county. A provious apportion ment had been made when the amount for the Pacific highway was 1180,000 This was revised to $240 00, deductions being made from min or roads. This is to be matched by the state making the total for Pacific highway 4S0,000. Nothing was said relative to the Tiller cut-off, the main issue being the Pacific highway as originally proposed and the lateral road to the Coos county line, con necting with the road in Coos county, . giving them an outlet to Marshfield ' and the coast. Twenty-two minor roads here and many agreed to attend been specified are included in the $550,000 bond Issue. Jackson county was much praised for what has been done for good roads here, and many agred to attend ; ttflk TrI-States Koads convention to be ? held on May 16 and 17 at Medford with the intention of Investigating our highway.
