Next Hominy night, April 2, will occur the regular meeting of the com mercial club. Mayor Gates of Med- ford will he present to give a boost ing address in behalf of the valley interests in genornl, and W. H. In the third trial of a blind pig ease at Redding, four women have been summoned to servo on the jury with the expectation that a verdict will be reached speedily. The Presbyterian chureli held its annual meeting on Wednesday even ing, the business session being .pre ceded by a delicately appointed lunch. In the absence of Pastor Camnhan, occasioned by illness, R. P. Neil pre sided as moderator. Reports sub mitted showed n gratifying status as to church activities in various chan nels. Over 20u is the enrollment in the Sunday school. Expenditures ag gregated $1839 tho past year. The budget for the current year is fixed on the basis of $2,500. Con way, a former Ashland contractor heavily engaged in Marshficld enter prises, announces the organization of the Buttercup Dairy Products Co., of Coquille in Coos county, of which he- is vice president and general man ager. The corporation is capitalized at $100,000, half of which is for erecting and equipping a model con densary plant, the remainder to be used as working assets. The new concern will utilize the products of 3000 milch cows. In the words of the Coquille Sentinel of recent date, "Connwny is the man at the but" who will make a success of the new under taking. Local Shriners have received an invitation to attend a ceremonial at Sacramento, April 21, to be held under the auspices of Islnin Temple of San Francisco, nt which 3000 members of that order are to be in attendance. I. X. Mulkey, who recently died at Pleasant Hill, Ore., was the father of B. F. Mulkey of Portland, formerly president of the Ashland Normal school. Ho was 77 yenrs of age and leaves four sons and two daughters.
