RED CROSS 10 BE
A meeting for the organization of
a Rogue River Branch of tho Amer
ican Red Cross will be held In Med
ford'as soon as word Is received from
William Hush, field organizer of the
society. Announcement will be made
aa far in advance as possible in or-
dcr t0 i'lve f ne, a hanc0 be
present at the organization meeting.
Word has been received from John
L. Clymr, director of the Pacific di
vision, that he considers this terri
tory particularly advantageous for
this work.
The American Red Cross Is char
tered by congress, the president of
the United States is president of the
society. Its reports are made to con
gress and its accounts are audited
by the war department. Its object is
the bringing of help to all who need
It both In times of peace and in war.
In great calamities such as the San
Francisco fire, the Ohio floods, the
Titanic and Eastland disasters the
Red Cross Is the channel through
which help comes. In organizing the
branch It will be necessary to appoint
committees for civilian relief, mili
tary relief, membership, publicity and
finance.
In order to carry on the work of the
Red Cross effectually It Is necessary
that tho membership be greatly In
creased. Japan with forty millions
total population has a Red Cross
membership of 1,800,000; tho United
States with one hundred million peo-

clean, sweet and fresh
and avoid Illness.
Sanitary science has of late made
rapid strides with results that are of
untold blessing to humanity. Tho lat
est application of its untiring research
is the recommendation that It Is aa
necessary to attend to internal sanita
tion of the drainage system of the hu
man body as It Is tA the drains of tho
house.
Those of us who ore accustomed to
fool dull and heavy when we arise,
splitting headache, stuffy from a cold,
foul tougue, nasty breath, acid stom
ach, can, instead, feel aB fresh as a
daisy by opealng the sluices of the sys
tem each morning and flushing out tho
whole of the Internal poisonous stag
nant matter.
Everyone, whether ailing, Hick or
well, should, each morning before
breakfast, drink a glass of real hot
water with c teaspoonful of limestone
phosphate In It to wash from the stom
ach, liver and bowels tho previous
day'B imltgostlble wasto, sour bile and
poisonous toxins; thus cleansing,
sweetening and purifying the entlro
allmontary canal before putting moro
food inlo the stomach. Tho action of
hot water and limestone phosphato on
an empty stomach is wonderfully In
vigorating. It cleans out all tho sour
fermentations, gases, wasto and acidity
and gives one a splendid appetite for
breakfast. While you are enjoying
your brenkhst tho phosphated hoto
water Is quietly extracting a largo vol
ume of water from the blood and get
ting ready for a thorough Hushing of
all ihe lnsldo organs.
Tho millions of people who are both
ered with conntlpntlon, bilious spells,
stomach trouble, rheumatic stiffness;
others who have sallow aklns, blood
disorders and sickly complexions are
urged to got a quarter pound of lime
stone phosphate from the drug store.
This will cost very little, but is suffi
cient lo make anyono a pronounced
crank on tho subject of Internal eau

which the Germans are carrying out
as they withdraw, the British troops
are under shelter in the villages they

cases the walls remain standing, so
that cover for tho troops is improvis
