A blan ket of snow today covered the entire state of Oregon. Reports from north ern and western sections said a fall began during the night and, tu many places, continued during Die day. The eastern and southern sections have been whito for several weeks. In Portland and along the lower Columbia the Call was light and by noon rain had washed most of the snow away. Kugene, Albany and cit ies to the south reported ono of the heaviest falls of tho year. At Ash- hiuil and along the California Hue ten inches fell during the night. The Siskiyou summit Is under a blanket several feet deep and power lines i there are down. One accident is reported from Rose- burg, where a freight train ran into a work train during the storm. No one was injured. At Ashland the schools vero closed when the storm crippled power lines connected with the heating system. Mrs. Max Vog-t and children have returned to The Dalles after several weeks' visit with the former's sister, Miss Kiizabcth Renter. Miss liermuda Lewis of Eagle Point is visiting- at the home of lief sister, Mr.. Chauncey Florey. Mrs. Mark Finney left for Apple- gate Friday to visit relatives. Mrs. Harry Porter left lor Gran ada, Cat., this week to join her hus band, who has charge of a lumber mill in that vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Randier wore visitors from lluncoin Tuesday. The family of G. W. Goderurd ar rived from Snlem Sutiirday, and will occupy the Thormlyke residence. Mi's. Carrie Grant visited friends living here lust Sunday. The ladies of the Wednesday Afternoon club motored to Medford this week, where they spent a most enjoyable afternoon at the home of Mrs. II. M. Collins on Summit nve. Mr. and Mi's. In addition to cleaning the grounds it is planned to fill in some of the low places, set out some bulbs, and get the lawn ready for planting-. It will be greatly appre ciated if persons in the community who have choice bulbs to spare will donate them to the school. A request has been sent to the Fni versity of Oregon for some of the choice rose slips which the university is distributing nmong; the high schools of the state.
