The rooms were tastefully decorated with hearts, pussy willows and laurels and alter the "uests were all assem bled they were put to work making valentines. Great skill was shown but Mrs. Strieker and Mrs. June! were voted best and received uppro pnnlc prizes. A very dainty lunch .was served, consisting' of hcart-shup eu sauowicnes, decorated cakes, ice cream and coffee. iliss Jacobs leaves the first of next week for her home in Omaha stopping en route to visit friends at I.os Angeles and Salt Lake. During the month s visit here with her mother and brother she has also enjoyed the hospitality of many of the friends on liivcrside. Our sympathy goes out to the many relatives of Grandpa Jfon'is, who passed away Wednesday evening, February 14, ht his home in Hock Point. He had been in fulling healtl for some time and a few weeks ago had n fall which hastened his death He was uast 80 years old nud he and his faithful companion had lived to gether more than sixty venis. The funeral was held Friday at the home at 1 p. m. GOLD HILL NUGGETS . Mrs. JV E. Randalls, with her little duughter, arrived Sunday morning from Hertford for a visit with her folks, K. E. Jamison and family on Galls Creek, air. Randalls has been transferred to Roseville, California, from Medford. James D, Avery and Miss l.ela M Barker. The groom is well known among Gold Hill young people, hav ing lived here several years ago. His mother, Mrs. Mae Avery and brother, Frank, still resido here. C. N". Shaver received the sad news Tuesday of the passing away of his father. While his death was not en tirely unlooked for at this time, still it yas somewhat unexpected as word had been received of his improved condition. His ago was 83 years. J. W. Merritt made a brief visit between trains Thursday. . Rev. and Mrs. R. A. Hutchinson were in town Tuesday and Wednes day making arrangements for a par sonage. 1 hey will probably remove hero from Jacksonvillle next week, Mr. and Mrs. K. M. Morris, at his home near Gold 11111, on Wednesday, February 14th. He was born iu Green county, Missouri, December 28th IS JO, making him 80 years, 1 month and 17 days old the day of his de- mite.
