Bowman's team now stands at the head of the list of participants In the Flks bowling tournament with the capture of three straight games Fri day night from the Seely team. The Bowman team has 12 games yet to play to finish the tournament. The standing of the teams is as follows Bowman has won 21 and lost 12 games; Wold has won 15 and lost 11; Beverldge has won 19 and lost 14; Schmidt has won 15 and lost 15; Dr. Seely has won 14 and lost IS; Diamond has won 9 and lost 21. Employes of the city water depart, ment have been engaged during the week in the removal of the three pumps, a part of the old city well pumping system, from the pump pit back of the water station on South Riverside. The last pump was in stalledin 190S, the other two having been installed soma time previous. One pump in operated by steam power, the second is belt driven and the third is run by electric power. The pumps will be sold. Clarence Itcames, Fnlted States Attorney for Oregon, returned from San Francisco last night. He was called to San Francisco to argue for the government In the appeal taken to the Fnlted States circuit court of ippeals by If. H. Hlddell, formerly secretary of the Inland Development company.
