tion called the meeting to order and

Whitconib Riley. President Dill fol
lowed with a cordial welcome address.
The response was given by Dr. T. B.
Ford, chaplain of the editorial asso
ciation and district superintendent of
the Salem district of the M. E. church.
Addresses by H. K. Greer and Geo.
II. I limes completed the addresses on
the program.

gram, after which adjournment was
made to the vicinity of the band
stand where the Ashland band gave
concert complimentary to the

Kelly has visited Medford a number
of times and consequently has mado
many friends, who wish the young

San Francisco, where Mr. Kelly has

The Woman's Home Missionary so
ciety of the First Methodist Episcopal
church held Its regular meeting on
the Meeker lawn, across from the
church Friday evening at 8 o'clock

Calif. The Rev. S. V. Carsten of the

ding took placo at the bride's home
in this city. Tho newly wedded couple
wore recipients of many costly and
handsome gifts. The bride Is a beau
tiful girl and her rare ability as a
musician haB won her many friends.
She has taught music in Medford for
a number of years and has a class of
about seventy-five pupils who much
regret her departure. Mr. Stoflon

The Grizzly Hikers established
permanent camp at Crater : Lake
Tuesday where dally hikes will be
ftfnde to different points of Interest
The party will lncludo In their travels
throe-day hike around the rim of
Crater Lake. They will spond about
two weeks there.
Mrs. Hovlous and daughter, Carol
Fay, and Miss Swindler left Wednes
day for Glondale, Oregon, whero-thcy
will visit their sister. They will
return about the first of September in
timo to open up the conservatory for
the fall term of school.
The Epworth League hold a wolncr
roast on Bear 'creek, near Jackson
street bridge Tuesday evening. A
good number was In attendance and
after business transactions a bonfire
started and story telling and
"eats" followed.
Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Butler and
family left Medford Saturday night
for an extended auto trip to Crater
Lake. They will make stop-ovors alBo
at Lake Odcll, The Dalles, Bend
Portland and Harrisburg.
