In thin connection the in vention of Thornim (Viehrane, tenth enrl f Dundonald, i recalled an Ihmiik even inoro erfielent. Uundoiiald was a llrilinli admiral, and an inventor of ability. In 1811 Iks deviwed a method of warfare "jo effective that its ne would dent roy millioiiK of people in a few hours." At the time, the war with Napoleon was being waged, and Dmidonald elaimed: "We have an infallible means of seeiirinir at one blow our militarv supremae.v; of eoni- nieneing and termiiiating a war by one victory." The. in vent ion was labelled, "Uiindonald's death," and the com mittee to which it was referred reported on it as "effective but inhuman," and refused to use it. During the Crimean war Dundonald revived his "secret war plan" for the total destruction of the enemy's fleet and offered to conduct in person an attack upon Sevastopol and destrov it within a few hours without loss to he attacking lorce, Th inliuiiiaii. It is apparent that if Diuidoimld were alive today his offer would be eagerly accepted, at least by the kaiser, for his method must be the acme of efficiency in murder. It would enable humanity to destroy itself very rapidly which seems to be the desire of our war lords. If it, were in effect, war would soon lose the little glamor that twen tieth century methods have left it, and there would soon be none left to fight. But the poisonous gas, and even "Dundoiiald's death," are not as barbarous as the sinking of ocean liners and merchant ships with their ollenngs ol innocents, and the airship attacks upon farms and cities, lor the gas is used against armed men prepared for battle, while submarine and aerial warfare are directed against unarmed victims. So there should exist no quibbles on the ground of human ity against an effective method of destruction like Dun doiiald's. Man is demonstrating the fact I hat he is unfit to live and fulfilling the law of evolution by eliminating himself as the unfit from existence bv scientific self-destruction. War is nothing more or less than racial suicide. Humanity is no longer considered worth while, as all bars against de struction art down. Ily all means, let (Sreat Dritaiu, if it still possesses the secret, revive the terrible method of destroying life in vented by Dundonald and make a quick job of universal annihilation. Those who escape will never again consider war, and we will get rid, for once and all, of our scaredness and preparedness agitation. Kortoil by Jarkann County Ah trnct ro 8Uth nd Fir Hti. (limit omt.
