state treasurer, and James I). Ilmdy,
state auditor, "knowingly and will
fully" permitted irregular payments
amounting to thousands of dollars to
be mndc from state legislative com

n the circuit court hero today by J.
H. Fergu, u Chicago taxpayer.
A previous injunction suit filed by
Fergus held up appropriations made
by tho lost legislature nnil resulted
in the calling of u special session. The
bill asks that the officials he held
liable for tho refunding of the money
to the state.
The bill further charges that Lieu
tenant Governor Harrntt O'llara,
having failed iu an attempt lo obtain
an appropriation of $10,000 for his
white slavery investigating commis
sion, planned n "trick and device
whereby the treasury was to bo de
pleted of the sum of $15,000."
It is charged that nine vouchers for
pretended services aggregating ex
actly $10,000 were signed by the lieu-
tennut governor mid that with one
exception were delivered to one per
son who obtained tho money.
