He Is a firm believer that every dollar should bo so expended that Its re sults will last and not havo to bo re-expended In n short time to keep the road In traveling condition. In spite of nn organized effort on the part of a few citizens who havo felt It their duty to belittle every effort ! to build a permanent road on an economical basis, we feel that the people of Jackson county, as a whole, have stood behind tho Slate High way Department and the County Court with their confidence mid trust. This has been no little In spiration to us at tliuts hn the organization of this largo work was difficult and the opposition bitter. If we nre to Judge the feeling of the taxpayers by the numerous coin pllments on the class of work done nud Its cot then it U apparent that they feel their confidence has not been misplaced. If more of the counties of the state were as progressive and as willing to got behind their county courts mid all work together us a unit with the road builders, as .luck sou county Ims, then the history of roadbulldlng would soon bo very dif ferent. Keporls from tho patent office stale that It hi tho best ring received by thorn for 20 j years. As the avoraue automobile motor contains 12 rings, there Is n great field for n dug that Is right. The ring Itself Is so now mid dif ferent that It Is almost liiipusslblo to evplalu all of the mechanical features of its construction In this article, but will give u few of the leal features. This ring accomplishes what every repair man has boon looking for, a ring that vould (III up worn groove In a piston. This one feature has never been accomplished before In any patent rljig. It also breaks the Joint In three places making It gas tight on the cylinder walls. When wear occurs it not only expands to fit the cylinder, but owing to Its par ticular construction, expands to fit tho giooves In the piston. u nion tables Commercial College 0 " Jo", 1 'k a WELL EQUIPPED LIVERY AND FEED STABLES Best of care given stable boarding stock Best Horse Hotel in Oregon Southern The Mod ford Commercial College U nu Instlutlou of which Medford Is truly proud.
