It was definitely decided Inst
Thursday evening at a meeting of the
citizens held In the town hall that
Talent will put on her first grand
celebration of the Fourth of July.
I'nder the assumption from all re
ports that many of tho nearby towns
were not going to do anything along
this lino on the coming fourth n
was thought that Talent with her
bunch of energetic business men, cen
tral location nnd fine large grove
could have a rousing celebration.
Talent will be amply able to en
tertnln the largest mass of rcople
over gathered together In the lloguo
river valley and she most heartily
welcomes all who do not celebrate at
homo to como here. Tho program
has as jet not been fixed but three
of the ablest citizens nro at work on
It and tho results will soon bo pub
lished. There will be something for every
one to see nnd enjoy. There will bo
tho greased pig. etc., for tho young
and the old fashioned picnic tor the
aged. Tho oak grove Just west of
town where the last encampment of
the local Grand Army of the Repub
lic was held, is perhaps tho bet
picnic grounds In the valley. Kvory
ono who doesn't feast at home Is ex
pected to boost for Talent.
The meeting, that set the big ball

tion as has ever been kuown In the
valley, was called to order by Prof.
G, W. Agcr. Many of the leading
citizens were out and the orchestra
was there Inspiring all to lojal sup
